The e-Learning Heroes challenge of the week #186 – Create an e-Learning Template Using Pantone’s 2018 Colour of the Year was my inspiration for re-working one of my Storyline Templates.
The original colour theme was orange.
Converting a template design to a different colour theme is easy – so with just 10 minutes of my time, this is what I came up with.
As the basis of my template design was black/white/grey images, the only colour I needed to change was the orange. All I had to do was change a couple of settings:
- The Theme Colour (under the Design tab) – work from an existing theme or create a new one (don’t forget to check this in the Slide Masters as well)
- The Player – this is where you customise the feature colours for things like the player page background, seekbar, etc. One tip – for which I give credit to my awesome Storyline Template QA reviewer Tracy Carroll – don’t forget to go into Advanced Colour Editing and customise these colours, in particular the Hovered Item Highlight in List Item. This is blue by default and I had never altered this in any of my templates before Tracy pointed it out!
This course starter template is one of a number of templates that I’ve been developing over the last few months using Articulate Storyline 360.
These will be released next year on my new Storyline Templates website.
Each course starter template will also have a range of interactions available for download.
Storyline Templates has now been released – check it out here.
